It amazes me how people are so quick to tell you what someone said about you; they stand back and wait to see a show!
The next time you find yourself being baited into becoming a side show main attraction, ask the person who told you the gossip one question.
Why was the teller so comfortable telling them the dirt and what did they, the listener do to challenge the teller and defend you?
If they have no answer, they are just as guilty as the teller. Sometimes we need to see things for what they are; sometimes we need to reassess our associations.
If someone stands or sits in silence while you burn, they have shown you their true self that was hidden under the mask.
When the gossip comes to you do not give the messenger a show, ask them what role they played in the traveling train of the tellers tales?
